Wonderful stay once again. Giuseppe and Forrest were a delight with all their help. We enjoyed looking at the different star constellations in the backyard in a very pleasant moonless night.
Historic bed and breakfast run by very knowledgeable and gracious inn keepers. Bed was very comfortable. Beautiful yard in a great in town location. Generous healthy breakfast. We would love to come back!
We had a lovely stay at 29 India House. Forrest was a consummate host – he texted before we arrived to check when we’d get to the island, and then made the room available to us right away.
The Garden Room was perfect for us – with separate entrance off the back garden. We loved coming home after dinner to sit in the lounge chairs in the back and look at the stars, and bunnies!
Breakfast each morning outside was also lovely. Thank you to Guiseppe for always having decaf coffee available and always treating us like special guests.
The rest of the house/inn is filled with beautiful and interesting antiques, and Forrest has great stories to share about these pieces, if you’re interested (i was!)
The location is perfect – a quick walk into the hustle and bustle, but also quiet and beautiful.
Enjoy! Hope you have a lovely stay too!
The Garden room was perfect for our family! It was comfortable, nicely decorated and we had everything we needed! The location was walking distance to the ferry, shops and restaurants. It was so relaxing to sit out in the garden to rest up for our next activity.
Forrest and Guiseppe were friendly and helpful hosts. We look forward to staying here again! Thank you!
Forrest is a friendly, knowledgeable host who can offer advice, as well as a friendly chat. He was very accommodating when we arrived 3 hours earlier than expected. Built in 1795, 29 India Street is a beautifully maintained house filled with period details and his family history. It’s on a quiet side street, but very close to the commercial parts of Nantucket.
29 India House is the real Nantucket. Wonderfully decorated with a real nod to the history of the home and the island. Our suite was roomy (for me and my 18 year old daughter) and comfortable including our own private entrance through the pretty courtyard. Thoughtful touches such as a complete coffee set up made us so at home. Our breakfast was healthy and tasty. Thank We were just blocks away from Main Street and everything in the center of town was walkable. We’d stay at this lovely home again.
WITHOUT HESITATION, we would stay here again and UNEQUIVOCALLY recommend staying at 29 India!! Excellent service from pre-booking thru the end of our stay. Forrest immediately replied to all inquiries we had right up until our arrival. At check-in, he and Giuseppe made us feel welcomed and were always ready to answer questions.
The garden room was perfect and we loved having a separate entrance. The room was clean, bath towels were so thick, and bed was super comfortable. Typically, we have a hard time sleeping in other beds, but we both slept through the night. Our last day, we saw the white and green rooms on the second floor and would consider renting those too. The trade off would be the shower size for the private entrance.
Location was perfect as it was just a short walk to all the restaurants and shops. India Street is a busier road than anticipated, however, the house was so quiet. As healthier eaters, breakfast was perfect for us- lots of fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs, breads, granola, yogurt, and cereal.
We are on the hunt to find rental properties that we can return to each year. Finally have found one at 29 India! Forrest and Giuseppe were perfect hosts and we look forward to returning again!
It’s an amazing and a very quiet location. Close to town. Definitely feels like you’re at home for in Airbnb bed and breakfast. Forest and Giuseppe work great hosts answered questions gave great directions and suggestions. And the idea of staying in the historical 1795 dwelling that of Captain Albert Wood. Long stay or short stay Perfect!
I booked this location on behalf of my grandparents. The host was extremely helpful and accommodating with my elderly grandparents. The house and garden are breathtaking. I absolutely recommend this location.
The location is great for enjoying the town of Nantucket. The rooms were immaculate and breakfast was perfect. Forrest is an excellent and accommodating host.
Truly charming, quaint B & B. Forrest is such a peaceful and wonderful man. Provided us with beach blanket and towels and many tips on restaurants that the locals enjoy. He also shared what Nantucket was like, then and now. It was a treat to see this original Quaker style home, that’s been handed down through generations, in its original structure. Wonderful location. Close to ferry. Close to shopping and restaurants. Cottage was perfect for our family of three (13 yr old).
Forest was a great host.
Great location, we walked to everything we wanted to see.
Bed was very comfort able. Full service housekeeping plus a nice breakfast. That was our first time staying in a B&B, we would do it again. Thanks!
You are invited to enjoy a great vacation here and stroll through Nantucket’s past.
